你还记得你的阿公吗?

今晚在facebook看到这个youtube clip,所以想和大家分享。

For some, memory is just a thing of the past.

A favourite grandson attempts to restore his grandfather's ailing memory. A famous chicken seller, a charming dancer and a ladies' man... this is what his grandfather used to be, before he was diagnosed with dementia.

However it's not the past his grandfather forgets. In fact, it's all he can remember. What he has forgotten is how to live in the present.

Ah Kong is a new short film written and directed by Royston Tan and presented by the Health Promotion Board.

A visit to the Mandai Orchid Garden

I have been visiting more places in Singapore because of photography. The Orchid Garden is one of them. Did a short visit on Hari Raya Morning. I've read news that this place will be closed down in Jan'11 because the STB wants to extend the Night Safari and that the owner will move to Neo Tew if necessarily.

We were there on time.. but looks like there were some manpower issues and so.. nobody opened the gates when it is 830am. We waited and waited for 30 mins before dyeo did a leopard crawl under the gates to find help !

This is how the gate looked like
In the meantime.. we entertained ourselves first with this fellow which dropped from no where..
This little hut is entrance to the place.
You need to pay an entrance fee though.
- Adults $3.50
- Kids under 12 $1.00
- Photographers $1.50 (don't ask me how they define)
It is an interesting place.. It is made up of a few sections such as orchid garden, private property, orchid nursery, restaurant. You can also hold your wedding there too.

Adding a couple of photos.

Haven't got enough time to complete the walk.. hopefully will be back soon..

Another piece of heritage that is going to disappear. GO AND VISIT this place before it gets teared down.

Latest toy - Lumix G 8mm F3.5 Fisheye for M4/3

Oh yeah oh yeah oh yeah hey!

Got my little fishy eye once it is here in SG.

Took it out for some testing and fun.
Don't you just love the way it views the world from another dimension.

Suntec city with the water fountain

It is an ultra-wide prime lens although I wished that it was F2.8 instead.
No choice then, since nobody else was willing to produce, I had to spend a bomb on Panny's fishy eye.

Some more samples - Produces pretty nice bokeh too..

It can do some marco too, on paper it states minimum focus distance is 0.1m

The world looks different from a fish's eye.
