A fren in need is a fren indeed.. Will you do this for a fren?

Weather for the day: super hot...

Today is supposed to be just a normal sunday like usual...

until the end... (u nv know what's going to crop up, but hey that's life, isn't it?)

Who knows a fren got puntured tire and is stranded at petrol station..

so.. i went back home.. took my tire repair kit.. send the ger home first... n went down to look for my fren...

lucky the punture wasn't too huge... could be saved with my tire repair kit.. so there i was... trying out the repair kit for the first time... HAHA... he was my guinea pig.. and he tot i was an expert with such stuff...

it's ok... we all learn and grow... so patched the tire (it wasn't that difficult wat) and had a really good laugh during the process...
Once it's patched up, off we went for a teh session... caught up with each other's life.. haven seen each other in a while..
think it was like wat..? 1 yr since we last had teh together??

it was just like the gd ol days... spending our time at the usual Al a-meens..
we had no $.. just banking on each other to scrap pass the days.. tok cok n sing song the nite away... (really missed those days..)

2 hrs just passed and I wanted to go back to catch the Euro 08 final...

the score now is Spain 1 Germany 0...
who will win the Euro Cup !??!
I can't decide...

R you ready for another Romance of the 3 kingdoms movie?
This time round it's named Red Cliff Part 1. (does that mean there will be more to come?)

I have always enjoyed anything related with the 3 kingdoms, be it serial drama, movies or games..

so how will this fare compared to the by Andy Lau.

Family day on 16 - 17th August 08

ok... It's family day again... time to bring your family out on a weekend to relax..

fully sponsored by the company..

so this means i can bring the ger for the 3rd family day together... free trip just go loh.. haha...
2006 - Bintan Lagoon Resort (Indonesia)
2007 - Pulai Springs Resort (Johor, Msia)

so where r we heading to this time round....??

BATAM.... it's back to Indonesia again... (is this like a loop.. next yr msia again?)
we will be staying at HolidayInn Batam
From the website, it looks not bad...
Not that i am expecting alot from it... after going through 2 family days.. i can understand why alot of people don really like to go for family day...

For me... i am just hoping that the place looks nice.. give me a nice room... n some good food...
maybe some activities that i can do.. or maybe some shopping for the ger
that's all... simple as that... 2D1N leh.. wat can u do with so many competitors?

it is always very messy trying to co-ordinate few hundred people (includ family members) for such trips... the rooms, transport (land, sea, land again)... normally it will cock up 1 lah...
so forgive them ok..? haha !!

but last yr was really bad sia...
the place suck... because there's nothing to do there.. except to play golf or to swim with your kids.. some activities were organised by the committee but with too many ppl around.. it is nv gonna be your turn...
So what did i do? i still rem ok... becos it was so simple..
- reach there, check in, n eat lunch... food sux...
- stay in the room n watch tv the whole afternoon cos it rained.. besides, there's nothing to do anyway
- came out for dinner, eat some lousy dinner, drank with my colleagues (limited barrels, damn it). It was sucky.. so go back room to watch tv again...
- woke up next morning, eat lousy breakfast... sibei tulanz already... so went home after that.. lucky i rode there.. so we just packed up and rode back home...

this time round, i hope that 2 of us can have a good time.. no cock ups... n enjoyable... (ok ok... at least give me something nice to eat can??)
if not want to go home also cannot ah ~~~~
then i will $@#@#$ KPKB again on Monday morning...

Just some random stuff for the day

Weather for the day: Cloudy.

Just 3 more days left before I leave the current job.
Decided to drop an email to the most important/frequent colleagues that I worked with, informing them that I will be leaving in July.

The replies that I've got made me a little sad that I am leaving.
1 of the most important behavior that you need in this job is to make sure you have good relationship with your colleagues/customer and i m pretty sure that i have this. (base on all the reviews that i had)
Together with this, what makes it enjoyable is the interaction with many types of people.

Next step is a more backend job with lesser interaction with users...

how far can I go from here...??
------------------------------------------

Petrol prices increased (what's new?)
for the 13th time since last july... i wonder wat's wrong.. keeps on going up... someone pls kill the oil traders...
just when i started to pump locally after msia's 40% increase in petrol prices.. sg up their price again... a 95 octane costs $2.236 a litre now...

haii.. wat should i do...
a full tank costs S$39 (after a 8% discount) vs S$21.86 in msia (after exchange rate)
15 mins at a petrol station in sg vs 1.5 - 2 hrs going to/fro JB vs 1.5 hrs to/fro 2nd link
S$0 savings vs S$14.50 savings in JB vs S$7.40 in 2nd link...

what will u do...??
------------------------------------------

alright... back to the euro semi final... Germany vs Turkey...
has been 2 days without soccer... been slping earlier... back to the upside down life again...

who will win...??

My Renthal handlerbar is here !!

Weather for the day: Sunny and Cloudy

yeah.. its here, its here!!!
My Renthal handlebar is here...
Took this on my office floor...

Not so clear this pic.. lousy camera phone i have...
It's from Royal Mail, UK. I got this online.

Feeling excited about my new toy..
went to K&T to fix it up....
Before Fixing

After Fixing

Closed up view - Before

Closed up view - After

So why did I do such a boliao thing and change my handlebar?
Too much $$ ?? hmm... few reasons lah...

- Just want modify my bike for fun, dono y but i just feel the need to change something every now and then..
- This handlebar is lower and it makes riding more comfortable for me.. the original was too high.. but i still managed to use it for 2 years... *duhz*
- You can corner faster and lower with this handlebar.. muwahaha..!! *this is the real reason*
(this model is Road Bike Low, wanted to get the ultra-low but the seller was kind enough to inform me that it does hit the tank at full lock.)
- Not sure if this is going to help when I go touring.. seems like it vibrates more now... maybe because there's no balancers. The motovation balancers that I had were really heavy and good.

Sunday happenings...

Weather: Morning wet, afternoon hot, night humid

Wat a crappy match last nite between Holland and Russia..
Holland lost 1-3 to Russia. Russia was leading 1-0 until the 86th min when Van Nistelrooy scored the equaliser...
Went into extra time and Russia emerged victorious.
Was on MSN with Whitedusk throughout the match and he thought that Russia will win.
I was thinking, Holland's best bet was to drag the match till penalty shootout.
Honestly speaking, Holland deserved to lose for the performance that it gave.

Went to sleep at 6am.

Was woken up at 12+pm by
the ger, asking me if I want to go to City Square. Basically, the idea is to go to the MANGO sale that's making all the girls in town crazy.
If we went to any of the MANGO shop in Singapore, a few things will happen.
  1. Go to town with all the heavy traffic.
  2. Have to find a place to park... hey, don't think that riding a motorbike gives u the privilege of parking anywhere ok! Especially in town, even if you are willing to pay, alot of shopping centers don't even want to let you in. Park on the pavement and risk S$70 fine.
  3. Worst thing to happen while shopping, every mother father's daughter will be in the shop. Squeeze and fight over all the clothes that are on sale in the shop. Q for 30 mins to try the clothes, Q another 15 mins to pay for them.
  4. Worst thing to happen for me, I will just be a kuku waiting outside like all mother father's son.
So, going to JB seems to be a better alternative.
  1. Going to city square is faster/easier then going to Orchard.
  2. No, I did not ride in. The crime rate in there is scary enough to leave xiaohei at home.
  3. With the exchange rate going up nowadays (S$1:RM2.38), things are a little cheaper there.
The MANGO stuff is also cheaper then those in Singapore, the shop is bigger and you have space to move around or idle there.
  4. You get to eat good food at lower price compared to Singapore.
Ok, these are what I had for dinner just now. This is a restoran (melayu spelling) called KimGary. Seems like there is 1 outlet at Vivocity and quite a num in HK and Msia as well.

My Starter, Bread with condensed milk and butter

My Ice Yuan Yang

My Main dish, 五香肉丁面。
Don't think that this is just a simple dish ok.
This brand "五香肉丁"
is baned in Singapore and I have not eaten this for months.

This is what she ate. It's called 海陆空. Haha.. sounds like some army term right.
Presenting to you, fish, chicken and pork. Each represents part of the dish name.

Desert was 芒果棉雪冰. Nothing fantasic about this, I've tasted much better ones in Taiwan.

And seems like this restaurant is endorsed by this HK actor, Bosco Wong (黃宗澤).

Went back after eating and it's pretty fast.. surprisingly no jams.
30 mins later I am at home.
Took CW1 from JB to Kranji MRT, stopped at Yew Tee MRT and walked home.

Newly renovated area in East coast park

went to check out this new area at east coast....
call me a sua ku... but i don really go to east coast very often...

seems like the whole area has been changed to a place that you can chill out...
with KFC, Carls Junior, old town white coffee, starbucks.. blah blah blah...

but something caught my eye while i was walking around...

Remote control tanks

This is the battlefield

I'm surprised they build this small area for people to have a firefight with their tanks...

To cap it off... it was a beautiful nite with the moon shining on the sea and stars shining brightly...

holland vs russia... who will win...
my guess will be on holland..
for me, they are a big favourite

ERP in 2010 and 2015..

saw this in Singapore Bike Forum just now..
haha.. there are always jokes about ERP in singapore..

enjoy..

ERP in 2010

5 years later...

Portugal vs Germany

Weather for the morning: Wet

PORTUGAL 2-3 GERMANY
Nuno Gomes 40, Hélder Postiga 87
Schweinsteiger 22, Klose 26, Ballack 61

Yes, the score reads Portugal 2-3 Germany.

What an exciting quarter final match last nite. For the 1st time, I finished a 245am match.. this means that it ends at 430am (sg time).. n it also meant that i only had 5 hrs of slp...

n now i m in office feeling groggy again... but nvm... its FRIDAY...
i can watch the next 2 QF in peace.. no work no nothing... just relax...

Let's pray that it's a peaceful day today...

Back for the day..

weather for the afternoon: hot, and nite: windy

alright.. i've reached home...

probably took me around 30 mins... traffic is still ok cos it's the june holidays...
other days it is worst... on PIE, all u see r red tail lights n cars not really moving...
JB kup kias will swerve here n there.. squeezing every inch of space out of you...
guess this is just part and parcel of peak hour in Singapore.. elsewhere could be worse..

nothing much happened today in office... it's just a idle my life away day while waiting for July to come..
had a mini celebration for the May and June birthday kids in the office..
normally we will do that monthly.. unless not enough ppl..

and so we have 2 cakes from Intercontinental Hotel and 3 pizzas from Pizza Hut..
i had 1 slide of chocolate moose cake and 4 slides of pizza... so that settled my dinner... still full now...

Spain qualifies...

Weather for the morning: Windy

Yes, Spain qualified even before last nite's match started...
When i watched the match, it seems like they had many chances to score but they rather play fanciful football.. it was nice to watch them play.. but when Greece scored.. i decided to go and slp..
all these late euro cup matches is making my daytime very groggy..

luckily when i checked the score earlier on, it shows, Spain 2 Greece 1.

And with that, we have the final group standings.

Right now, i am just rotting my life away at office.. dono what should i do now.. enjoy the rest of the mth in peace?

Nobody to hand my things over to... n nobody seems to care..
I share not care too when i move over.. simple as that...

My first post

Weather for the day: Sunny in morning, heavy rain in afternoon, cooling at night.

First post...
hmm... what should i write??

Maybe I can start with what I did today?
It's just another boring day at work today...
Just counting down to the end of the month... (bonus mth btw)

New things in my life which would keep me rather busy i think...

Come July, I would be changing my job from IT Associate in local client team to IT Analyst in network team. In a way, it's a promotion because of the change in band. Felt that I should be at this band 1 year back. It's rather hard to climb up the bands in this company that I work in.
There were a number of disappointments along the way too. Shall not comment too much on historical things.. haha...

So what do i do now? Support users in terms of end user infrastructure... so that means your desktop, laptop, printers, blackberries, IP Phones will be resolved by me...
N what will i do in the future... i m not very sure.. but i m guessing my primary role would be to support the network infrastructure operations in the Asia Pacific region offices...
Plenty of room for growth in this team i guess.. will probably keep me entertained for the next 3-4 years before I find it boring
again...

Goodbye, my cubicle..

2nd thing would be.. i m going back to sch...
Enrolled in
BSc (Honours) Information Technology and Business at uniSIM.
This is a 3yr course... i hope it won't be as disastrous as it did when i was in poly...
going back to sch means... busier weekday nites.. weekends... no time for myself... lesser touring..

ok.. it's the last round of matches for Group D of euro cup 08...
Greece vs Spain starting in 7 mins time...
